Trail Cameras with Viewing Screen Reviews
A trail camera viewing screen is a great addition to the specification of a trail camera.
An LCD screen allows you to view pictures in situ, providing instant feedback as to how active a location has been for wildlife or game animals.
In this review, all the cameras have color LCD viewing screens that let you view images while in the field and adjust the camera via a settings menu.
Listed below are 5 cameras covering all budget ranges. The first 2 cameras reviewed offer high end features.
The 3 remaining trail cams are more budget type trail cams, ideal for a first time user.

Last update on 2024-10-23 / Affiliate links / Images from Amazon Product Advertising API
The Browning Strike Force Pro XD is one of the smallest cameras in this group test and part of the Browning sub micro series of trail cameras.
What sets this trail camera apart is the dual lens set up. One lens for daytime and the second lens for nightime image capture. This means the camera is optimized for both, thus recording clear, sharp video and photos both day and night.
The 1.5 ” Color LCD viewing screen lets you view pictures stored on the SD card. The screen is well illuminated in darkness and allows you to adjust the settings with ease.
Trigger time without the flash is a very respectable 0.15 seconds although some have reported that pictures taken at 80 feet plus with the IR flash are sharp with good contrast making is easy to identify game from distance.
Overall image quality is very good. The camera has a 24 megapixel sensor and shoots video at 1600 x 900 resolution.
The camera comes with a quality 6 foot nylon tree strap and user manual.

First of the budget trail cams to look at in this review is the Usogood trail camera. Although being a budget camera it has solid build quality, plus the camera housing is waterproof and secure.
A 2.4 inch LCD screen allows you to check and view pictures in real time. This feature makes setting up the camera much easier.
The video quality is excellent for a low cost trail cam, offering full HD resolution at 1080p. The 20 megapixel camera also records good quality still pictures, with high contrast and sharp detail.
The trigger range again is around 65 feet, at night it uses 42pcs 940nm infrared LEDs that capture reasonably sharp and clear black and white still pictures of wildlife within the 65 feet range.
Trigger time is an impressive 0.2 seconds and the camera takes 3 photos in a burst when the camera detects motion.
An added extra that comes with the camera is a USB cable that allows you to connect to your computer to download the images quickly.
The SD card slot takes a standard SD card class 6 and above although no card is provided with this bundle.

Final Thoughts
There’s no doubt, after you’ve owned a trail cam with an LCD screen your unlikely to use one without, as it’s such a useful feature to have.
The Browning Strike Force Pro is my top choice as an all purpose trail game cam. Its picture quality and overall performance is hard to match.
If you’re looking for a cellular trail camera, the Snyper is worth taking a look. I have written a review specifically on cellular trail cameras if you think it’s a feature that may interest you further.
The VooPeak trail camera is the budget option to go with and the UsoGood camera is ideal for home security with its WiFi connectivity.
