Campark 4k Action Camera Reviews
In this article I take a look at the range of Campark [1] 4k action cameras currently on offer.
All of the cameras come with an impressive list of accessories to allow you use the cameras for a host of outdoor activities, plus 2 batteries as well.
These cameras are budget action cameras so don’t expect them to be on par with a GoPro or an Osmo Action.
There’s a reason why these cameras cost a fraction of the price and that is down to the processors and image sensors they use.
Having said that, a Campark action cam does offer a lot of value and are ideal for people starting out or perhaps as a second camera.
I have carefully listed what I think each model of camera in this review is best suited for in my honest opinion, which I hope will help you make an informed decision as to whether they fit your criteria.
OK, lets now take a look at the 4 cameras in this roundup.
NOTE: The brand Campark is also known as ACTCAM.

Campark ACT74A 4K Action Camera
Last update on 2024-11-21 / Affiliate links / Images from Amazon Product Advertising API
- Waterproof: 30 m
- 4K video: up to 30 fps
- 1080P video: up to 60 fps
- 1080P video: up to 60 fps
- 720P video: up to 90 fps
- Stills resolution: 16 MP
This is one of the oldest action cameras in Campark’s lineup and it’s starting to show its age a little. The camera doesn’t have an LCD touch screen and it has less features in regards to still pictures.
Having said that, this action camera does make sense in regards of price point and for use in certain applications.
Included in the package shown here is an external lavalier mic that plugs into the micro USB port on the side of the camera. The sound quality is pretty good from this external mic, certainly good enough for vlogging with a selfie stick.
In regards to image quality, the still images are good quality when taken during the day in fairly bright outdoor settings.
The 16 MP sensor does start to struggle at night though and you will notice some grain in the darker areas of the picture. So, overall don’t expect the still images to be as good as an iPhone 11 say.
4k video recording
4K video recording is part of the ACT74A’s camera specification, it is not however native 4K. In all honesty I would not use this action camera in 4K resolution.
At 4K resolution the chipset inside the camera struggles, recording at only 30 frames per second. This results in jerky movement. It’s OK for recording short clips just as a memory of a day at the beach with the family, but I wouldn’t use the 4K setting for anything serious.
1080P video recording
Where this budget action camera does shine is at 1080P resolution. In daylight and bright outdoor environments the video quality is close to action cameras costing far more.
If you’re looking for a B roll camera to attach to your mountain bike or for general use to record different angles along with a better quality camera then the ACT74A offers great value.
Campark ACT74A Summary
This is a great action camera for people starting out.
Maybe you’re looking for a B roll camera to use along side your main action camera.
Low cost means it’s one you can perhaps afford to loose.
- Quality 1080P Video
- Ideal budget "B Roll" action camera
- Accessories kit including external mic
- Poor 4K video quality
- No touch screen
Campark X20C Action Camera
- Waterproof: 30 m
- 4K video: up to 24 fps
- 1080P video: up to 60 fps
- 720P video: up to 120 fps
- Stills resolution: 20 MP
For people looking for an entry level action camera with an array of still picture settings and solid 4K video the Campark X20C may just be the ideal camera.
As with all Camparks action cameras the X20C comes with an impressive list of accessories for mounting to various outdoor gear for mountain biking, skiing and so on.
Part of the features included is a nice touch screen that has large menu buttons which are easy to navigate through. The screen isn’t as high resolution compared to a GoPro but it operates quickly and smoothly.
Still picture settings
The still pictures have manual white balance settings for daylight, cloudy and tungsten along with ISO settings. Overall, the still pictures up to 20 MP are sharp with good dynamic range.
Although this camera is advertised as a native 4K camera, sadly it is not. Again, Campark have interpolated the video from native 2K. However, the actual results are not too bad at all. I’d say the 4K is usable in brightly lit environments, but don’t expect GoPro or Osmo Action 4K video quality.
1080P video records at up to 60 frames per second, resulting in nice smooth video when used to record fast moving action footage.
Campark X20 Summary
A solid entry level camera for those looking for a low cost 4K camera.
Still pictures are better than average for an action camera, plus there’s a lot of still image settings to play with.
- Usable 4K video in daylight
- Lots of still image settings
- Touch screen, plus front LCD screen
- Lack of high fps at 1080P
- 4K video struggles at night
Campark V30 Action Camera
- Waterproof: 30 m
- 4K video: up to 30 fps
- 1080P video: up to 90 fps
- 720P video: up to 120 fps
- Stills resolution: 20 MP
Boasting a Hisilicon chipset, plus a 13 MP Sony Exmor sensor the Campark V30 is the closest in processing power to a Gopro so far. It’s still not on the same level but it does give GoPro a good run for its money.
4K video is at 3840 x 2160 at 30 fps. As you’d expect at that resolution along with the Sony Exmor sensor 4K footage does look smooth, with solid contrast ratio and detail. In short the V30 is the best camera in this review for 4K video.
There’s a solid set of features and settings in this camera. You have manual settings for still pictures and the ability to adjust the lens angle between (170°, 140°, 110° and 70°), which allows you to avoid the “fish eye look” for more documentary style filming.
External mic support
For people interested in vlogging there’s external mic support and the ability to record from a USB power bank for more long form recording, which is a neat thing to have as backup.
Campark V30 Summary
The 4K camera of choice in the Campark action camera range.
4K video is sharp with good dynamic range and smooth fluid action.
Quality still images for a budget action camera.
- Smooth 4K video in daylight
- 90 fps slow mo at 1080P
- Sony Exmor Sensor - quality stills
- No 60 fps at 4K
Campark X30 Action Camera
- Waterproof: 30 m
- 4K video: up to 60 fps
- 1080P video: up to 120 fps
- 720P video: up to 120 fps
- Stills resolution: 20 MP
Looking at the spec of the X30 you’d expect to see some good quality images and video. Unfortunately the camera does not live up to this expectation in my opinion.
On paper the Allwinner V5 chipset and Sony IMX386 12 MP sensor should deliver native 4K video. However the X30 doesn’t. For some reason the 4K video is interpolated, perhaps a future firmware update will sort this problem.
At the moment the X30 is not the choice of 4K camera it should be, that falls to the V30, reviewed above.
Firmware update
Until Campark provides us with a firmware update, I can’t recommend the X30 over the V30 for 4K video.
If, however, you’re looking for an action camera to shoot at 1080P only then the X30 is the camera to go with as it shoots at 120 fps.
Campark X30 Summary
If you’re looking for a 4K camera I’d suggest the X30 instead.
For 1080P action footage the X30 is the better option with higher frame rates for slow mo.
- High quality 1080P video
- 120 fps slow mo at 1080P
- Lots of features
- Interpolated 4K
- No external mic support
