Venture Pal - 40 Litre Hiking Backpack

I personally find this to be one of the best backpacking packs around at this price point, mainly because you can use it for a variety of purposes.

It’s one of the lighter packs, and I find it very comfortable. The pack itself barely weighs anything at all at 11.2 ounces, and it also comes with a number of adjustable support straps to keep you comfortable no matter if you’re day hiking, going for a multi-day hike, or doing some lower peak mountain climbing.

What surprises me is just how durable the nylon material of the Venture Pal Hiking Backpack is. The nylon material also comes in a range of colors from black to orange.

Usually such a lightweight and affordable backpack wouldn’t be so durable, but this one manages to carry enough for a multi-day hike with ease.

I also appreciate how it’s water resistant, because I do go out in some harsh weather.

A quick mention as to how much space is available inside with a 40 litre main compartment, plus the additional multi pockets and zipper compartments.

MOUNTAINTOP 55L/80L Backpack with Rain Cover

If you need a large and roomy backpack for hiking over 3 days or more, something that can hold a tent, sleeping bag, bear proof container, canister stove and other essentials it’s this Mountaintop Hiking Backpack I would most likely recommend.

For the price it comes at, this particular bag has a lot of neat features, with one of those features being ample storage space.

Simply put, this backpack is huge and it can fit as much gear as I need for a day of hiking or camping, even overnight trips.

The pack comes in a number of sizes from 55 litres up to a massive 80 litres.

One of my favorite aspects is that you can easily organize your gear thanks to the plethora of individual compartments which this pack comes with.

Although it is fairly large, surprisingly, it is still comfortable to carry using a bearing system of aluminium rods to distribute weight.

The pack itself isn’t very heavy, and it comes with a variety of padding and adjustable straps so you can be comfortable all day long.

Teton Sports Cut 55 Litre Backpack

Here is another backpack that is good for 3 to 5 day hikes. The capacity is 55 litres.

It’s another one of those options I would recommend if you have a lot of gear that you want to take with you and several other fellow hikers to share.

The individual compartments make it really easy to keep everything organized.

Now, this is not the cheapest backpack around, as it is one of the more expensive in this buying guide, but that said, with the slightly increased price it also comes with a higher level of durability.

When it comes down to it, for this price, you won’t find a more durable backpack. It also comes with a lot of features to help keep you comfortable during your hiking trip, but the main benefits I see here are durability and relatively low weight at 2 kg.

Osprey Packs 13 Litre Daylite Daypack

If I were to choose one backpack for a day hike, it would probably be the Osprey Packs Daylite Daypack [1].

One of my favorite aspects of this backpack is that it is very small at only 13 litres capacity.

It’s comfortable with a mesh covered foam back panel, and lightweight which makes it ideal for short day hikes.

It doesn’t have all that much storage space, but more than enough. It comes with a large main compartment, as well as a smaller secondary compartment.

They aren’t huge, but there’s enough room for a water bottle, a small stove to brew a coffee, plus any essentials for a day hike that you may wish to carry.

It might not have all that much storage space, but due to its compact and ergonomic design, as well as the foam back panel, it’s one of the comfier backpacks around.

As far as I’m concerned, for hiking up to 6 to 8 hours in one day, it’s the perfect pack at this budget price point.

HIKPRO 20L - Lightweight Water Resistant Backpack

Here is a nice little backpack, known as a daypack, which makes for a great choice if you are just going for a day hike with the family or going urban exploring.

Personally, I really like this particular pack because it comes with a good mix of size and roominess.

In other words, I find it small and lightweight enough to be comfortable and easy to adjust with the mesh shoulder straps .

It’s perfectly comfortable, it has plenty of room, it’s decent for organization, and it comes in some nice colors. The only drawback is that the HIKPRO Daypack is not the most durable option around if you’re heading out onto rougher trails with dense brush.
